چکیده

Three 2D and 3D photoreactive MOFs of trans,trans-muconic acid with Er(3+) and their corresponding isomorphous Y(3+) phases were synthesized and their photoreactivity was studied as a function of the crystal environment.

Background and objective: Benzene is one of the main pollutants in air and one of the most extensive chemical compound used in both natural and industrial processes. Benzene exposure leads to the most dangerous adverse health effects, particularly blood cancer. The aim of this study was to evaluate the gas station workers’ exposure to benzene by measuring benzene in breathing air and urinary tr...

[Assessment of urinary trans, trans-muconic acid as a biomarker of exposure to benzene].

OBJECTIVE To assess the use of trans, trans-muconic acid as a biomarker of occupational exposure to benzene. METHODS Trans, trans-muconic acid in urine samples of exposed (exposed group, n=36) and non-exposed (non-exposed group, n=116) workers to benzene. Urinary levels of trans, trans-muconic acid were quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography. The study sample consisted of subjec...

Muconic acid as a metabolic product of benzene.

JAFF, [1909] isolated muconic acid from the urine of rabbits and dogs to which benzene had been administered. The amount was approximately 03% of the benzene given, but Jaff6 considered that a larger amount was formed in the tissues, possibly as much as 25-30%, by the opening of the benzene ring, because he found that injected muconic acid was metabolized, only about 1% being recovered in the u...

Comparison of the Levels of the Urinary Benzene Metabolite trans,trans-Muconic Acid in Smokers and Nonsmokers, and the Effects of Pregnancy’1

Urinary trans,trans-muconic acid, a ring-opened metabolite of benzene, was quantified in pregnant and nonpregnant smokers. The results of this study were compared with those reported previously in male smokers. The data clearly demonstrate that smoking increases the levels of trans,trans-muconic acid in urine. The mean levels of trans,trans-muconic acid in the urine of groups of male, female, a...

High-performance liquid chromatography method for urinary trans,trans-muconic acid. Application to environmental exposure to benzene.

This report describes a specific and precise high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the quantification of trans,trans-muconic acid in human urine. The procedure involved a highly efficient Bond-Elut SAX extraction with 20% acetic acid elution. The HPLC analysis used a sodium acetate/methanol mobile phase with a C18 reverse phase column and UV detection at 265 nm. The recovery,...
